1894-1988A service of love for Mrs. Bertha "Budd" Hagen, 94, of Garner, who died Friday, Oct. 7, 1988 at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, was held 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 10 at the United Methodist Church in Garner with Rev. Jerry Wolcott as officiant.
Mrs. Richard Johnson, organist, accompanied, soloist, Mrs. Dean Cataldo. Ushers were Vern Butz and Marvin Schoneman.
She had donated her body for scientific purposes. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery at a later date. The Cataldo Funeral Home in Garner was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bertha "Budd" Marie Hagen, the daughter of Peter and Bertha Shea, was born September 1, 1894 at Long Prairie, MN.
May 3, 1917 she was married to Martin Hagen at Fargo, ND. Prior to establishing a permanent home in Garner in 1954, they lived in a number of communities, where her husband pursued his position as auditor for the state of Iowa. She had lived at Prairie View Apartments the past three years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, U.M.W. and Meet 'Em All & Pink Tea.
She is survived by her stepsister, Mrs. Edna Dillingham of Asheville, NC, as well as her family of many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin and her parents.
