Cora Grell

GARNER: Cora Grell, 93, of Garner, died Thursday (April 26, 1984) at the Britt hospital.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Garner with the Rev. Jerry Wolcott officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Garner.

Visitation will be after 1 this afternoon at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner.

Mrs. Grell was born Oct. 30, 1890, in Lena, Ill., to Joseph and Ida (Kelly) Lawhorn. At an early age, she moved with her family to a farm south of Garner and graduated from Garner High School in 1908. She received her normal training teacher's certificate and taught in rural Garner and Klemme schools.

On Dec. 18, 1913, she married Ferd Grell at Garner and they farmed 13 years south of Garner, then four years northeast of Garner. They lived in Clear Lake one year, then in Garner the rest of their married lives.

Mrs. Grell was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by her husband, Ferd, of Garner, a niece and sister in law.
