BRITT: Harold Loy, 77, Britt, died Wednesday (Jan. 9, 1985) at a Britt hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Evangelical Free Church in Britt, with Rev. Jack Monroe officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt, with visitation after 10 a.m. Sunday at Carter Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt, in charge of arrangements.
Born Aug. 27, 1907, he came to Iowa at an early age with his parents, settling in Hancock County. He attended Britt High School, and married Mary Klasse Sept. 6, 1937 in Renwick, Iowa.
The couple moved to Wallace, Idaho, in 1943, then moved to California in 1945. He returned to the Midwest in 1972, then moved to Colorado. In 1980, they returned to Britt. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Britt.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Britt; one son, Gordon of Rifle, Colo.; and three sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Ida) Fox of McAllen, Tex., Mrs. Verl (Mildred) Lamb of Varna, Ill., and Mrs. Dale (Deloris) Cramer of New Lennox, Ill.

1907-1985Services for Harold Loy, 77, of Britt who died Jan. 9 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, were held Monday, Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Britt. Rev. Jack Monroe officiated.
Mrs. Dwight Anderson, organist, accompanied Carolyn Dawson as she provided comfort in music.
Ushers were Ray Kumsher, Cal Larson, Dave Peterson and Charles Sweers. Honorary casket bearers were Verlin Ball, Ed Kumsher, Wayne Anderson, John Hill, Maurice Peterson and Forest Cutshall. Active casket bearers were Ray Neswold, Kenneth DeWaard, Lorris Swanson, Jerry Malek, Mark Ball and Daryl Heino.
Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Services were under the direction of Carter Ewing Funeral Chapel, Britt.
Harold Glenn Loy, the son of John and Lillie (Whitehurst) Loy, was born Aug. 27, 1907 in Livingston County, Ill. He moved with his family to Hancock County at the age of six. He attended country schools and Britt High School.
Harold was united in marriage to Mary Klasse on Sept. 6, 1937 at Renwick. The couple moved to Wallace, Idaho and in 1943 moved to California. In 1945 they returned to the Midwest.
While living in the Midwest, Harold was baptized in the Turkey River and held offices in area churches.
In 1972 they moved to Colorado and to Britt in 1980, where they have since resided.
He is survived by his wife Mary; a son Gordon and his wife Linda of Rifle, Colo.; three sisters: Mrs. Kenneth (Ida) Fox of McAllen, Tex., Mrs. Verl (Mildred) Lamb of Varna, Ill., Mrs. Dale (Deloris) Cramer. of New Lenox, Ill.; seven nephews and five nieces, among them Evelyn Stalzer of Britt; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Floyd and Ray; five sisters: Lola Fae, Nola Mae, Vera in infancy, Velma Blasier and Dorothy Klein; one niece and one nephew.
