Funeral services for Pearline Johnson, 73, of Wesley, who died Thursday, June 20, 1996, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt, were held Monday at the Cataldo Funeral Home, Britt, with Rev. Dan Christensen officiating.

Organist, LeAnn, Buns, accompanied soloist, Renae Hemingway.

Casket bearers were Mark Tegtmeyer, Brian Tegtmeyer, Cody Johnson, Merle Johnson, Dan Fank, Mike Ades, Brent Gassman and Pete "LeRoy" Pesicka.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.

Pearline Johnson, the daughter of Engle and Jessie (Schutjer) Van Dusseldorp, was born October 31, 1922 at Wesley. She attended the rural schools of Britt.

August 18, 1945 she married Merle Johnson in Garner. The couple farmed near Hutchins for a few years and then moved to rural Woden where they farmed until Merle's death in 1957. She then moved her family to Wesley and worked at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. She later moved to Crosby, MN, where she worked as a nurses aide for over five years at the Cayuna Range Hospital. Pearline returned to Britt to care for her father until his death and then moved back to Wesley, where she helped her son, Carl, hatch and raise wildlife.

She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Connie Tegtmeyer and her husband, Ervin of Woden, Raymond Johnson and his: wife, Dee of Forest City, Wilber Johnson and his wife, Rose of Buffalo Center, and Carl "Gene" Johnson and his wife, Nancy of Wesley; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Florence Bird of Britt; a sister in law, Nona Van Dusseldorp of Britt; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle; her parents; her stepmother, Lily Van Dusseldorp; a grandson, Shawn Johnson in 1991; two brothers, Melvin and Carl Van Dusseldorp; and a niece, Karen Christensen in 1994.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cataldo Funeral Home, Britt, with the Rev. Dan Christensen officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
