Martha June Johnson

BRITT: Graveside services for Martha Johnson, 82, will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt, with Pastor Robert Dodge officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 to noon Thursday at the Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt.

Martha June Johnson, daughter of James and Cordie Belle (Whitaker) Jones, was born June 30, 1918, in Sullivan County, Mo.

On July 1, 1935, she was married to William E. Johnson at Forest City. They made their home at Britt. In 1960, they moved to Walker, Minn., where they owned and operated Johnson's Harbor Resort until they retired and moved to Lewisville, Texas, in 1980.

She died at her home in Lewisville on Saturday (Oct. 21, 2000) at the age of 82 years.

She is survived by her husband, William Johnson, of Lewisville, Texas; three children, Wilma "Billie" Luppen and her husband, Edward, of Kanawha, Karen Olsen and her husband, Vernon, of Lewisville, Texas, and Dennis "Rick" Johnson and his wife, Lindi, of Grandview, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Richard Luppen; a brother and sisters.
