Retired Farmer Dies at Britt; Rites Tuesday

Britt - Funeral services for Gustav H. Horstman, 82, retired farmer, will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ed Wallace, and at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, the Rev. R. M. Bell officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. He died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Saturday night while sitting in a chair on the porch.

Mr. Horstman came to Britt when a small lad with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Horstman, grew to manhood here and became an extensive landowner and cattle feeder. His wife died Nov. 12, 1932, and a son, Earl, 22, was fatally shot in a hunting accident April 2, 1922.

Mr. Horstman was a member of the Methodist Church. He was an Odd Fellow for nearly 50 years.

Besides his daughter, he leaves two sons, Clarence C. and Elmer, of Britt; a brother, Herman, of Britt, and two sisters, Mrs. Ed Dow of Forest City and Mrs. Thomas O'Rourk of Britt.
