Emil Barz

KLEMME - Funeral services for Emil Barz, 78, who died Wednesday at a Belmond hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme.

Mr. Barz, formerly of Lamont, was associated with the banking business in the Waterloo area for 50 years until his retirement two years ago.

He was born June 21, 1892 in Klemme, the son of August and Bertha (Priebe) Barz.

He attended elementary schools in Klemme and also attended business college.

On June 22, 1918, he was married to Elsie Thompson. She died in 1923. In 1934, he was married to Lucille Gerk, who died in 1951.

The Rev. Marvin Lehman will officiate and burial will be in the Klemme Cemetery. Johnston Funeral Home of Klemme is in charge.

Mr. Barz is survived by a son Max, Reno, Nev., and a sister, Mrs. Lena Schroeder, Garner.
