Emily Smith

Britt - Emily Smith, 85, of Britt, died Wednesday (Nov. 19, 1986) at a Mason City hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Britt, with the Rev. J. Larry Vallery officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery here.

Visitation is after 2 p.m. Friday at Ewing Funeral Chapel, Britt. A Rebekah service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Emily May Smith

BRITT - Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Britt, for Emily May Smith, 85, of Britt.

She died Wednesday (Nov. 19, 1986) at a Mason City hospital.

The Rev. J. Larry Vallery will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.

Visitation will begin at 2 this afternoon at Ewing Funeral Chapel, Britt, where a Rebekah service will be held at 7:30 tonight.

Mrs. Smith was born July 13, 1901, in LaPrarie Township, Marshall County, Illinois, to John and Florence (Calder) Aitchison.

She married George Earl Smith on Nov. 21, 1923, in Bristow.

Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of United Methodist Church, Britt, and was active in the Esther Circle of the church. She was also a member of Rebekah Lodge 334, Britt, for 50 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Lies, Altoona; two sons, Allen, Garner, and Clifford, Britt; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera Clapsaddle, Mobridge, S.D., and two brothers, Clarence Aitchison, Clear Lake, and Merwin Aitchison, Ventura.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son and a daughter.
