Fern Smith

BRITT — Fern Smith, 75, of Britt, died Monday (April 20, 1992) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Britt with the Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 to 9 tonight at the Ewing Funeral Home, Britt.

Fern Smith was born Sept. 14, 1916, at Britt.

Survivors include her husband, Milton, of Britt; six daughters, Patricia Van Gorp, Marshalltown, Barbara Nonnweiler, Garner, Jean Perkins, Riverside, Calif., and Judith Sonius, Nancy Michel and Sue Steinlicht, all of Britt; two sons, Billy of Britt and David, of Hampton; two sisters, Evelyn Smidt and Eva Schleuger, both of Britt; two brothers, Floyd and Roy Charbonneaux, both of Britt; and 30 grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 10 step great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two grandsons.
