1919-1986

Services for Herman J. Freesman, 67, who died August 7 at his home in rural Britt was held Saturday, August 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Britt with Rev. Marvin Robeck officiating.

Music was provided by organist Mrs. LeAnne Buns and soloist Mrs. Paul Smith. Ushers were Don Dallman and Melvin Pergande.

Casket bearers were Jay Meacham, Craig Bickford, Kurt Bickford, Calvin Bickford, Kent Ricketts and Clark Bickford.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Services were under the direction of Ewing Funeral Home.

Herman Jockum Freeseman, son of Harry and Louise (Harms) Freeseman was born May 8, 1919 near Corwith. He attended grade school in Stilson and high school in Corwith. Herman farmed his whole life near Britt and received an award from the Hancock County Conservation Board for his conservation farming practices.

He was a life long member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt where he was baptized and confirmed. He was also a member of the Hancock County Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louise and Harry; two sisters: Mrs. Charles (Gretchen) Bickford and Mrs. Kenneth (Elizabeth) Ricketts.

Herman is survived by one sister Rosemarie and husband Kenneth Meacham of Mason City; and a brother-in-law Kenneth Ricketts of Marshalltown; five nieces and six nephews.
