ABSTRACTED OBITUARY from Forest City Summit, July 23, 1959

Carl C. Tegtmeyer, 62, a lifelong resident of Hancock county, died July 14 at Britt.

Born in 1896 to Carl and Mary Doescher Tegtmeyer. U.S. Army during WW I. Married Hannah Amerson at Fort Dodge in 1921. Lived on the farm north of Woden since their marriage.

Survivors are his wife, 8 children, Mrs. Lawrence (Frances) Swanson of Alameda, Calif.; Kenneth of Woden; Donald of Charles City; Mrs. Arnold (Arlene) Gerdis of Algona; Mrs. David (Doreen) Felder of Dayton, Ohio; Harvey in the U.S. Navy at Fallon, Nev. ; Sonja and Ervin at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Tegtmeyer, and two sisters, Mrs. Dan (Frieda) Dye and Bertha Knutson all of Clear Lake and two grandchildren.

Services at St. John's Lutheran church in Woden with burial in Bingham township cemetery south of Woden.
