Retired Farmer Dies at Britt

Britt - Henry Schutjer, 59, a retired farmer, died Saturday at a Mason City hospital. He had been in poor health three years.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Evangelical Free Church here, preceded by a prayer service for the immediate family at the Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Ernest V. Streed will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The son of Seede and Fanny Timmerman Schutjer, he was born near Woden, April 23, 1899. He was married to Ella Jacobson at Britt in 1930. The couple farmed southwest of here until retiring to town in 1951.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Wirtz, Britt; two sons, James at Ellsworth College, Iowa Falls and Richard at Iowa State College, Ames; three grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters, George, Britt; Cyrus, Huston, Minn,; Jake, Mason City; Mrs. Jack (Fanny) Olthoff, Woden, and Mrs. Ingle (Lily) VanDusseldorp, Britt.
