ABSTRACTED OBITUARY from Forest City Summit, Jan. 12, 1961

Funeral services for John F. Boyken, 75, who died at a Mason City hospital Jan. 4 following an illness, were held Sat. at Imm. Lutheran church, northwest of Woden with the Rev. H. A. Diers officiating.

Mr. Boyken was born in Germany in 1885 and came to this country at the age of 4 years. He lived on a farm west of Woden his entire life.

Surviving are two sisters, Freda, with whom he lived, and Mrs. Henry (Marie) Mayland. He was preceded in death by a bother, William Boyken and a sister, Mrs. Ernest Senne.

Burial was in Immanuel church cemetery.
