ABSTRACTED OBITUARY from Forest City Summit, Jan. 12, 1961

Funeral services were held Wed. afternoon at Pilot Knob Luth. church for Lewis Halvorson, former resident of the Forest City area who died Fri. at his home near St. Olaf, Ia. He was 75 years old.

Mr. Halvorson was born Sept. 23. 1885, at Forest City, the son of Ole and Carrie Mikkelson Halvorson.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eda, his parents, 4 sisters. Mary, Vina, Julia and Emma and a brother Clarence. Survived by his wife Olga Benson Halvorson, 3 sisters, Helen Salsaa of Ventura, Mrs. Ole Peterson of Clear Lake and Mrs. Don Foley of Olathe, Colo.

Burial in church cemetery with Hanson funeral home in charge.
