Crystal Lake rites for Mrs. Glen Brookins

CRYSTAL LAKE - Funeral services for Mrs. Glen Brookins, 56, were held at the First Methodist Church Saturday. The Rev. Walter Phelps officiated. Burial was in the Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Clara B.Frandsen was born at Crystal Lake, Dec. 13, 1903, the daughter of Mels and Karen Frandsen. She was graduated from Forest City High School and Iowa State Teachers College, and taught until her marriage in 1927. They had lived on a farm north of Crystal Lake since 1933.

Mrs. Brookins was a member of the Methodist Church, active in Ladies Aid and the first president of the WSCS. She was a charter member of Crystal Lake Women's Club and president for two years of the Hancock County Woman's Club.

Surviving are her husband, Glen; a brother, William Frandsen, and a sister, Carrie Frandsen, both of Forest City.

ABSTRACTED OBITUARY from Forest City Summit, August 11, 1960

Mrs. Glenn Brookins died Thursday at Forest City.

Clara B. Frandsen was born at Crystal Lake December 13, 1903 to Nels and Karen Frandsen. Teacher. Married Glenn Brookins of Nashua, May 26, 1927. Lived at Monticello, Nashua and Crystal Lake.

Survived by her husband, a brother, William Frandsen and a sister, Carrie Frandsen, both of Forest City.

Preceded by her parents and a sister, Mary.

Services at Crystal Lake Methodist church with burial in Crystal Lake cemetery.
