Joe Jilek Dies At Spirit Lake

Rock Island Section Foreman Has Attack

Crystal Lake - Joe Jilek died suddenly from a heart attack at Spirit Lake Monday where he was employed as a Rock Island section foreman.

Mr.Jilek who had been the local section foreman for over 30 years was sent last year to Spirit Lake after the crew of section workers was discontinued here. His family remained here where they own their home and Mr. Jilek spent the weekends home.

He is survived by his wife and 7 children, Mrs. Otto Kirschbaum of Mason City, Mrs. Anna Mae Donnadine of Des Moines, Shirley at home, Albert Jilik of Crystal Lake, and 3 sons in the army, Fred Jilek believed to be on his way to foreign soil, Charles on foreign soil and Joseph at Motorville, S. Car. He also has 12 grandchildren. Funeral services are pending word from the sons in service.
