Funeral Held at Woden for Crash Victim

Woden - Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Woden for Thomas G. Hulme, who died in a plane crash near Indianola, Feb. 23, at the age of 48 years. He was born near Woden and grew to manhood in the Woden vicinity.

In 1942, following the death of his wife, Bernice, he moved to Omaha, Neb., where he was engaged in defense work. In 1945 he was married to Sybli Otte of York, Neb. The made their home at York where he was employed as an instructor at the Bradshaw Flying Service. Two year later, he took over management of the York Municipal Airport. He moved with his family to Grand Island, Neb., in 1953 where he was employed with the Nebraska Flying Service until his death.

Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Elizabeth and Mrs. Jerry Jones, both of York, Neb., and three sons, Thomas Jr. of York, Neb., Leonard of Lincoln, Neb., and Ronald who is in the U. S. Navy, stationed at San Diego, Calif., his mother, Mrs. Tena Hulme of Woden, one sister, Mrs. Cecil Stuart of Omaha, Neb., one brother, Edward Hulme of Woden, and two grandchildren. His father and one daughter, Karen, preceded him in death.

Burial will be in Crystal Township Cemetery at Crystal Lake with the Overton Funeral Home of Indianola in charge.
