Rites at Garner for Meat Dealer to be Wednesday

Garner - Michael Peter Jacobsen, 76, operator of a meat market in Garner for many years, died at a hospital in Mason City Sunday following an illness. He had been at the hospital since March 23.

The body is at Bohn Funeral Home in Garner. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church with the Rev. S. Willard Cuningham officiating. Burial in Concord Township cemetery.

Survivors include the widow, a son Egon of Boone, daughter, Mrs. Robert Brouwer of Garner, a son by a previous marriage, Oscar, of Alberta, Canada, three grandsons, three brothers, Walter, William and Dick of the Harlan vicinity, four sisters, Elaine Jacobsen, Mrs. John Peterson and Mrs. Chris Neilsen, of Ceres, Calif., and Mrs. Peter Christensen, Audubon.

Mr. Jacobsen was born in Denmark Feb. 13, 1877, to Mike and Catherine Jacobsen. He came to the United States in 1912, and settled at Harlan. On Feb. 3, 1919, he was married to Sorine Marie Steffensen at Mason City.
