Pioneer Resident of Britt Vicinity Dies

Britt - Rites were held here for Mrs. Alden Thompson, 59, who died Wednesday at her home in Britt. She was the former Carrie Hunsley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hunsley, who settled in the Stilson neighborhood in 1898, coming from Oakland, Ill., where Carrie was born Oct. 25, 1886.

In 1913 she was married to Alden Thompson and they continued to live on a farm near Britt since that time.

She is survived by her husband and 6 children, named Mrs. Albert Dietz of Britt, Mrs. Glen Fisher of Orange, Texas; Dale, Roland and Donald of Britt, and Louis who is with the army in Korea. Also surviving are 1 sister, Mrs. John Schwab, of Lafayette, Ind., 2 brothers, Ray Hunsley of Britt and Ernest Hunsley of Canada. Two sisters and 3 brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Evangelical Free Church and its pastor the Rev. E. Walter Lindgren conducted the funeral services. Burial was in the Britt Evergreen cemetery.
