Rites at Klemme for Mrs. Haefner

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Haefner, 86, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 4, 1967, at the Methodist church in Klemme. The Rev. J. E. Albertson officiating.

Mrs. Roy Arnold and Mrs. Russell Thorson sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Robert Schulz, organist.

Interment was made in the cemetery at Klemme with the Johnston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were Howard Spitler, Elmer Beier, Arlin Olson, Bernard Pringnitz, Kenneth Zwald and Harold Abele.

Mrs. Haefner, who was a lifelong resident of the Klemme community, died Friday afternoon, Sept. 1, at Concord Manor in Garner, where she made her home recently.

She was born on a farm west of Klemme on June 14, 1881, the daughter of Ernest and Minnie Stille Schuldt. As a girl she attended the rural schools near her home. On March 5, 1903, she was united in marriage to John Wesley Haefner at Klemme. They farmed in Liberty Township until 1940 when they moved to Klemme.

Surviving are three sons, Wilbur Haefner, Klemme; Rufus, Edgerton, Wis.; and Paul, Aurora, Illinois. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Edna Suckow and Mrs. Geneva Anderson both of Klemme, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Swanetta Haefner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died in February of this year, a son, Burnett, one brother, Wes Schuldt, and two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Schoenwetter and Mrs. Addie Bush.
