C. L. Eisenman, 86 Dies Tuesday; Farmer 60 Years

Cy Eisenman, a Hancock county farmer for more than sixty years and living north of Britt, died at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 29, having been quit ill since January although he had been in failing health for the past year.

Funeral services for Mr. Eisenman will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist Church in Britt proceeded by a prayer service at the Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Maynard Bell will be in charge. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery at Britt.

Cyrus L. Eisenman was born July 23, 1868, at Stewartville, Minn., a son to Adam and Lacina Wollridge-Eisenman. He moved with his parents to Pearl City, Ill., where he obtained part of his education, and at the age of 14 came to Iowa, near Woden, where he finished his schooling in Bingham township.

Mr. Eisenman was united in marriage to Melissa Fox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fox, the wedding taking place at Algona on March 12, 1890. The couple established their home on a farm near Woden.

In the year of 1895 the Eisenman family moved to a farm north of Britt where Mr.and Mrs. Eisenman have lived for the past sixty years. Mr. Eisenman, better known to his friends as "Cy", farmer on a large scale in the early years, witnessing many hardships that exist in a new country. A breeder and raiser of livestock he became prominently known throughout this area. He served in various capacities as a township officer and was active in community interests.

Mr. and Mrs. Eisenman observed their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1940. They have been life-long members of the Methodist Church.

Four sons and three daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Eisenman. A son Lester preceded his father in death in 1950. Surviving are the wife, and six children, Chester, Willard, and Cleo, all of Britt; Mrs. August (Bertha) Kirschbaum, Sexton; Mrs. Thomas (Florence) Wilson, Belmond; and Mrs. Maynard (Mildred) Nall, Phoenix, Arizona. There are 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, three brothers: Frank and Walter, Minco, Okla, and Ralph at Wilmont, S. Dak., and other relatives.
