FOREST CITY - Bill D. Buckley, 65, died Saturday (July 24, 1999) at his home in Forest City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St., Forest City, with the Rev. Gerald Dyste officiating. Burial will be in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Billy D. Buckley was born Feb. 11, 1934, in Forest City, the son of Marcus and Olga (Tollefson) Buckley. He attended school in Forest City and graduated from Forest City High School.

He married Lorraine Meyer on Oct. 5, 1962, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City.

Billy began his career in construction, specifically bricklaying. After working his way up the ranks, he eventually worked as a brickmason for 27 years. He worked with many area companies: Les Nelson Construction in Mason City, Davis & Keith Construction in Clear Lake, William Stoynoff in Ventura, just to name a few. Poor health eventually forced his retirement from the construction field. He later began working for 3M in Forest City and continued there for 15 years, retiring at age 60.

Billy enjoyed being outdoors: fishing, hunting and camping. He loved spending time with his family and his close friends. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed sharing his projects with family.

He died at his home in Forest City on July 24, 1999, at the age of 65.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Buckley, of Forest City; two daughters, Cheri Lyne Prohaska and her husband, Mark, of Garner, and Cindy Jo Gross and her husband, H. A., of Stuart; five grandchildren, Sara and Brad Prohaska of Garner and Melissa, Jaret and Hailey Gross of Stuart; mother-in-law, Ethel Meyer, of Garner; two aunts and several cousins.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents.
