Services for Franklin L. Halverson, 64, of Garner, who died Monday, April 1, 1991 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City were held 9 a.m., Thursday, April 4 at Peace Reformed Church south of Garner with Rev Howard Hart as officiant.

Mrs. Byron Greiman, organist, accompanied Tom Renner and Dean Stromer, who sang as a duet. Ushers were K. J. Hueneman and Robert Anderson.

Casket bearers were Paul Reding, Richard Lewerke, Larry Hrubes, Jeff Goldstein, Robert Lorenzen and Gerald Halverson.

Burial was in Peace Reformed Cemetery Cataldo Funeral Home of Garner was in charge of arrangements.

Franklin LeRoy Halverson, the son of Harland O. and Furn (Juhl) Halverson, was born April 13, 1926 on a farm northeast of Miller in Ellington Township. After attending the rural schools of Hancock County he farmed with his parents.

September 29, 1947, he married LaVera Lemke at Peace Reformed Church, south of Garner. They farmed in the Miller area until 1968. Frank worked for Forester Motor Homes for two years and then for Winnebago Industries in Forest City for over 22 years, retiring in September of 1990.

He was a member of Peace Reformed Church and had served on the Consistory.

He is survived by his wife, LaVera Halverson of Garner; his son, Michael Halverson, and his wife, Kerry, and their children, Ryan, Rachel, Steven and Kate, all of Miller; his daughter, Mrs. Renita Ray and her husband, David, and their children, Jesse and Matthew, of Green Isle, MN; his step-mother, Mrs. Viola Halverson of
Forest City; his brother, Alvin Halverson, and his wife, Betty of Garner and his sister, Mrs. Norma Jean Hammond, and her husband, Leonard of Leland.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Nathaniel Ray; and his parents.
