Raymond Haberkamp

GARNER — Raymond H. Haberkamp, 91, of Garner, died Sunday (Feb. 4, 1990) at the Concord Manor Care Center, Garner, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Peace Reformed Church, south of Garner, with the Rev. Howard Hart officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner.

He was born Aug. 27, 1898, on a farm south of Garner, a son of August and Christina (Josten) Haberkamp. He attended Garner schools.

On March 10, 1926, he married Stella Huenemann at the Peace Reformed Church parsonage. They farmed south of Garner until October, 1954, when they moved into Garner. He worked as a salesman for the Madison Silo Company in the 1950's and 1960's.

He was a member of Peace Reformed Church where he served as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher, and was treasurer of the Building Committee. He was a former board member of the Farmers Cooperative Society and the Garner Shipping Association.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Sterling (Judith) Larson, Garner, Mrs. John (Lola) Hobson, Danville, and Mrs. Harold (Leah) Frandson, Story City; six grandchildren; one brother, Harold Haberkamp, Garner; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Amalia Lemke, Meservey, and Mrs. Naomi Haberkamp, San Jose, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and three sisters.
