Services for Fred Chisel held Nov. 5

Funeral services for Carl Fredrick Chisel, who died Nov. 3 at Mason City hospital were held Nov. 5 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Forest City. The Rev. Owen Gangstead and Rev. Paul Mork officiated.

Mr. Chisel, son of Louise Waldow and Anton Chisel, who preceded him in death, was married to Marie Tauber in Forest City on July 21, 1902. Mr. Chisel, who has lived in Forest City since 1918 formerly did farming, had a Rawleigh route near Osage and was a real estate broker since 1916. For a time he lived in Miller. He was active in civic affairs and was on the building committee for Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Chisel preceded him in death. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Carl T. (Effie) Sunde, Forest City; one granddaughter, Mrs. DeWayne (Donna) I. Johnson, Forest City; two great grandsons, Scott and Craig Johnson; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Kopischke and Mrs. Minnie Kopischke and two brothers, Frank A. and Floyd Chisel.

At the service Mrs. John Nellermoe was soloist and Norma Boomgarden, organist. Casket bearers were John Bannick, Arthur Sime, A. W. Strand, Harry Steffensen, Jack Peterson Sr., and Joseph Westby.

Interment was in Madison township cemetery and Olson Funeral home was in charge.
