Doris Martha Dominic – Mason City – Doris Martha Dominic of the Willows, 1000 N. Eisenhower #302 Mason City, died Tuesday (Dec. 16, 2003) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. A memorial service will be held at a later date. It was her wish to be cremated.

Doris was born Feb. 22, 1920, to Ralph and Mina (Hartzell) Ludeke. Doris received her education from Garner High School and the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. She then married Jack J. Dominic in 1942 in rural Clear Lake.

She loved crafts, cooking, and baking. For many years she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clear Lake, the White Shrine and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include daughters, Jill M. Soens of Durango, Colo., Pamela D. Zolney of Chicago, Ill, Rebecca J. Dominic of Grand Junction, Colo., and Darcie Whitney of Hilton Head, S.C.; four grandchildren, Adolph L. Soens of South Bend, Ind., Molly Zolney-Nino of Chicago, Ill., Ingrid Soens-Dolan of Charlottesville, Va. And Hunter Whitney of Hilton Head, S.C.; five great-grandchildren; sisters, June Collins of Mason City and Marilyn Coulter of Earlham, Iowa; brother Stanley Ludeke of Red Wing, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jack.
Note - Both Doris and Jack are intered in the Ell Twp Cemetery in Klemme, Iowa.
