Mrs. Wm. Johnson services Jan 9
Memorial services were held Tuesday Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. from the Klemme Methodist Church for Mrs. Wm.(Sarah) Johnson who reached the age of 92.
Mrs.Johnson died Friday Jan. 5 at a Rockwell nursing home where she had been a resident for the past twelve years.
The Rev. J. E. Albertson officated at the services. Burial was made in the Klemme Cemetery, with the Johnson Funeral Home in charge.
Comfort in music was provided by Mrs. Roy Arnold and Mrs. Russel Thorson, who sang the hymns, "Save by Grace" and, "God Will Take Care of You". Mrs. Bob Schultz was the organist. Pallbearers were; Albert Swanson, Ben Coobs, Clarence Bachman, John Etchen, Orville Bridges and Wayne Whitney.
Mrs. Johnson was born at Point Pleasant, West Virginia, on March 1, 1875, the daughter of Edward and Mary Terry. In 1897, she was united in marriage to William Johnson and the settled on a farm at Wauponsee, Illinois. They spent 15 years in Illinois. After living in Kansas for another 5 years, they moved to Iowa in 1916. They farmed in the Klemme vicinity until retiring in 1941. Mr. Johnson passed away in 1961.
Surviving are a son, Silvin of Kerrick, Minnesota; and a daughter, Mrs. Effie Blunt of Florida. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter, Clarice.
