Beate Fritsch was born April 6, 1856 at Austria to Frederick Fritsch (1820-1899) and Rosalie Schincher (1831-1913).

Beate emigrated to America with her parents. Found on the ship's list: Beate Fritsche; Arrival Date: 29 Jul 1867; Birth Date: abt 1855; Age: 12 Female; Nationality: Austrian; Port of Departure: Bremen, Germany; Destination: United States of America. Port of Arrival: New York, Port Arrival Country: United States, Ship Name: Bremen.

Family found in the 1870 census living at Lyon, Franklin, Missouri: Fred Fritz 50, Rosalie Fritz 35, Alois Fritz 22, Beate Fritz 14, William Fritz 1. Naturalized 1872.

Beate married Jacob Waldeck, they may have had a son Victor, later divorced.

Found in the 1880 census living at Concord, Hancock, Iowa, divorced, working as a house servant: Beatie Fritsch 22.

Beate married Henry Jochim Ahrens on April 6, 1892 in probably Hancock County, Iowa (his 2nd marriage). They had 2 daughters: Beate Henrietta Ahrens and Elizabeth Ahrens.

Found in the 1895 census at Madison, Hancock, Iowa: Beate Ahrens age 38.

1900: Henery Ahrens 55, Beote Ahrens 49, Beata Ahrens 5, Elizabeth Ahrens 2, Clyde Nelson Unkn, Augest Hook 39.
1910: Henry Ahrens 81[87], Berta Ahrens 53, Beate Henrietta Ahrens 15, Elizabeth Ahrens 13.

Found in the 1920 census at Garner, Hancock, Iowa: Widowed: Bertha Yoedar 76, Berta Ahrens 63, Elisabeth Ahrens 22. Elisabeth is working as a nurse in a private home.

Found in the 1930, 1940 censuses at Algona, Kossuth, Iowa with her daughter and daughter's husband:
1930: Floyd E Sawyer 38, Beate H Sawyer 35, Phyllis M Sawyer 9, Floyd E Sawyer 3, Beate Ahrends 74.
1940: Doctor Sawyer 48, Beate Sawyer 44, Phillys Sawyer 19, Floyd Sawyer 13, Beate Ahrens 84.

Beate Fritsch Waldeck Ahrens died May 19, 1944 at Garner, Hancock, Iowa and is buried at the St Boniface Cemetery, Garner, Hancock, Iowa.
