LIFE OF ED N. GREEN

Son of Daniel and Anna (Knitz) Green, was baptized in infancy and confirmed at a tender age. He received his education in the rural school near Corwith, Ia., where he grew to manhood. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War I and was honorably discharged after the war.

He was married to Reka Hippen on July 2, 1919 at Garner, Ia. The couple established their home on a farm near Corwith, moving to a farm southeast of Klemme, Ia. in 1949. They retired from the farm and moved to Goodell, Ia. in 1972. The home
was blessed with 7 sons, Wilbur J., Larry J., Lyle E., Robert, Wallace, Harold and Delbert. Mr. Green served on the Hancock Co. Agriculture Stabilization Board for many years and took active interest in other community programs and current events. He enjoyed sports, especially fishing. His life centered with his family.

He is survived by his wife Reka; 4 sons, Robert and his wife Glenice, LaHabra, Calif.; Wallace and his wife Helen, Phoenix, Ariz.; Harold and his wife Doris, Corwith, Ia.; and Delbert and his wife Patricia, Cincinnati, Ohio; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 4 brothers, Carl J., Lake City, Ill., Elbert, Britt, Ia., William G., Wesley, Ia. and Harold, Eagle Grove, Ia.; 3 sisters, Mrs. Ethel Halligan and Beulah Green, both Britt, Ia. and Mrs. Bertha Davis, Longmont, Colo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Larry J., Lyle E. and Wilbur J.
