Father Marvin BriesGeorgia M. Ricketts, 92, of Britt formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Georgia the daughter of George S. and Beatrice McGough Fallon was born December 29, 1907, in Vincent, Iowa. She attended country school northwest of Vincent and later Saint Angela Academy in Carroll, Iowa.
At the age of 18, she moved back to Vincent and worked at the local creamery until her marriage. Georgia was united in marriage with Chet Ricketts on February 16, 1931, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
The couple farmed southwest of Vincent for a number of years. Georgia was also employed by Morton Frozen Foods in Webster City for five years. In 1962, following the death of her husband, she moved to Fort Dodge to be near her. family. In 1991, she moved to Britt to be near her daughter and family.
Georgia was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt.
Georgia is survived by one daughter, Rickee Ewing and her husband, Roger, of Britt, and their children, Dr. Christopher Ewing and his wife, Dr. Dawn Ewing, of Baltimore, Maryland and Michael Ewing of Britt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chet, a sister Heloise Heesch, and a brother Fay Fallon.
