Albina Rose Prohaska, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Urich) Rayhons, was born April 9, 1910 in Garfield Township in Hancock County. She attended Garfield #5 School through eighth grade. She did housekeeping for several people before her marriage to Lloyd Prohaska on November 25, 1930 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They farmed south of Duncan, near Ventura and then moved to a farm south of Duncan in 1940 where she lived until moving to Garner in 1970. She moved to Concord Care center in April of 1993. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, quilting and crocheting. Her children and
grandchildren were her joy in life and her faith was important to her. She was a life member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Rosary Society and the Catholic Workmans Lodge.

She is survived by her 5 children, Duane Prohaska of McCook, NE, Mary Lou Tusha and her husband, George, of Garner, Verne Prohaska and his wife, Sally, of Garner, Bonnie Bacon and her special friend, Keith Christiansen of Ventura, and
Carolyn Buseman of West Des Moines; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 3 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Kopacek and her husband, Vincent, of Britt; a brother-in-law, Julius Knop of Garner; a sister-in-law, Agnes Rayhons of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, November 17, 1966; a daughter, Betty Jane Prohaska in 1944; 2 sons-in-law, Raymond Formanek in 1991 and Larry Bacon in 1993; parents; and six brothers and sisters, John Rayhons, Frank Rayhons, Mary Chizek, Emma Knop, Caroline Prohaska and Henry Rayhons.
