Doyce Winston Friedow, son of Floyd and Edna Friedow, was born at Kanawha, IA on April 17, 1921. He married Audrey Johnson at Bethany, MO on October 10, 1942. He died Thursday morning at his residence after a prolonged illness.He farmed near Kanawha, IA until moving to Madison in 1969 where he served at Executive Secretary of the South Dakota Pork Council. He retired in 1986.
He served in the US Army in the Asiatic and Pacific Theaters during WW II.
He was a member of the Lake Post 2638 Veteran of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife — Audrey of Madison; two sons and their wives — Dr. Monty and Elizabeth Friedow of Madison and Kyle and Jill Friedow of Kent, OH; three daughters and their husbands — Donyce and Pete Eekhoff of White, SD; Holyce and Steve Nissen of Ames, IA and Joslyn and Gordon Lubbers of Iowa Falls, IA; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; two brothers — Verlyn and Milton, both of Kanawha, IA; one sister — Ardith Kelly of Charles City, IA
and his step-mother — Annette Friedow of Britt, IA and two cousins Carol Klien and Bill Friedow.He was preceded in death by his parents.
