Obituary

Lena M. SCHROEDER

Lena M. Schroeder, 94, passed away September 17, 1975 at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

Lena Mathilda Barz, the daughter of August and Bertha (Priebe) Barz, was born October 20,
1881 in Hancock County east of Klemme. She was educated in rural school and bible school and
confirmed in the Reformed Church.

On October 8, 1902 she was united in marriage to Charles Schroeder in her parent's home.
They farmed west of Klemme until 1909 when Mr. Schroeder's health failed and they moved to
Klemme, After Mr, Schroeder's death in 1909 Mrs. Schroeder and her daughter, Adela, lived
with Mrs. Schroeder's parents. She was a nurse in the Klemme vicinity and cared for her
parents until their death.

In 1966 she moved to the Prairie View Apartments where she resided until the time of her
death.

Lena Schroeder was a charter member of the Ladies Aid, Dorcas Society and Bible Study.

Survivors include her daughter, Adela Ingle of Dover, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schroeder was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eight brothers, two
sisters, one grandchild and her son-in-law, Cleo Ingle.

The family requests memorials to be given to the Klemme United Church of Christ.
