Obituary
CLARENCE E. LEMKE
Clarence E. Lemke, son of Otto and Mary (Bus-h) Lemke was born November 14, 1913 on a farm
5 miles west of Klemme. As a infant he moved with his parents to the home farm just west of
Klemme.In his youth he attended the Klemme Schools through the llth grade, and graduated from
Garner High School in 1931.On November 15, 1936 he was married to Pearl Neuberger at the First Methodist Church in
Klemme by the Rev. William Zabilka. For the next 5 years he was employed in Klemme, first
by Walter Rosendahl and later by Lloyd Lau. In 1941 he and his wife moved to the home farm
just west of Klemme where he has lived since.Mr. Lemke had been in failing health for the last year and had spent considerable time in
hospitals at Belmond and Rochester. He passed away early Sunday morning, June 9th at the
Belmond Community Hospital at the age of 49 years, 6 months and 25 days.Clarence was baptized as an infant and was a life-long member of the Methodist Church. He
was a faithful worker and served on the Official Board. He and his wife were privileged to
celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary at the Methodist Church 2 years ago.Through his many months of lingering illness, Clarence was always of a cheerful disposition.
He was held in high esteem by those who cared for him through his illness, and even until
the end he never gave up hope that he would soon be back home and with his family, and he
will be greatly missed by his family and friends.Surviving are:
His wife, Pearl;
1 daughter, Pamela, age 17 at home:
his mother, Mrs Mary Lemke of Klemme;
and a brother Wayne Lemke of Houston, Texas.He was preceded in death by his father.
