AGNES N. KELLY
Funeral services were held on Saturday for Agnes N. Kelly at the Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt with Rev. Clyde Lee officiating. Organist Ruby Hodson accompanied soloist Charles McLaughlin. Pallbearers were Harold Jacobson, M. E. Swan, Frank Whetstone, Robert Jacobson, Willie Bartik and James Hampe. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt, with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Agnes Nellie Kelly, 92, passed away on Wednesday, Aug 12, 1987 at the Westview Care Center in Britt.
Agnes, daughter of Andrew and Bertina Jorgensen Aageson, was born on January 26, 1895 in Britt, and attended the local rural schools. She graduated from the Britt High School in 1912 and later taught school in Fenton and Crystal Lake.
On December 24, 1913 Agnes was united in marriage with Ray Kelly at Cylinder, Iowa. The couple made their home in Britt all their lives.
Agnes was a life long member of the Britt Congregational United Church of Christ, and the Ladies Aide. She was a seamstress and especially enjoyed wedding gowns. Agnes also taught classes in contract Bridge, sang in the church choir, and played clarinet in the Ladies' Britt Band.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ray in 1983; four sisters, and three brothers.
Agnes is survived by a daughter Doris and her husband L. E. Cook of Urbandale, Iowa, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; and four nieces, and three nephews.
