Margaret Alys Carothers was born August 1, 1892 at Garner, Hancock, IA to George Patterson Carothers and Emma Ingram. Her parents had moved to Iowa from Guernsey County, Ohio in the spring of 1888.

Margaret was the 10th of eleven children and the last daughter to be born to the couple. Her siblings were: Sarah Ellen, John Hamilton, James Dale, Rosella Jane (Jennie), William Garfield, Etta Martha, Elizabeth Miller, Mary Josephine, Minnie Agnes and Albert George.

Margaret married Albert Gustave Lade bet. 1915-1920. Believe they may have had one daughter Dorothy (born 1920) who died as a child (before 1925).

Margaret died July 19, 1977 at Mason City, Cerro Gordo, IA and is buried at St John's Lutheran Cemetery, Garner, Hancock, IA.

1900: Emma Carothers 43, Sadie E Carothers 24, Jennie R Carothers 20, William G Carothers 18, Lizzie M Carothers 14, Josephine M Carothers 12, Minnie A Carothers 10, Margaret A Carothers 7.

1910: Emma Carothers 52, Lizzie Carothers 24, Josephine Carothers 22, Margaret Carothers 17.

1920: A G Lade 26, Margaret Lade 26, Dorothy Lade 1 month. 1925: Albert A Lade 31, Margret Lade 31.

1930: Albert Lade 36, Margaret Lade 36, Ferd Paul 41.
