CARL SUCKOW - 1895-1960
Carl Suckow was born in Liberty Township, April 8, 1895, son of Henry and Taldine Suckow. He attended country school at Liberty Number 8. After finishing there he went to Ellsworth College at Iowa Falls, lowa
.
He was baptized in the Liberty Methodist Church, later becoming a member.He worked as a farm hand, tiler, painter and in the oil business. He was drafted into World War I.
In 1918 he was united in marriage to Ida Ludeke. Two sons were born to this union, Warren and Dean.
In 1933 he moved his family from Garner to Louisana. After a few years of searching, he again found a good opening in the wholesale oil business. After a number of successful years, they decided to sell the oil business and locate in Springfield, Missouri. While moving to Springfield, his wife, Ida was killed in an automobile accident.
Dean, the youngest son was called to his Eternal Reward in the autumn of 1959, Warren the oldest son married and has 2 sons.
After Ida's death, Carl went back to Louisana, where he again made his home.
He was visiting relatives and friends in Iowa when he was stricken by a heart attack on Friday, April 29.
He leaves to mourn his passing, one son Warren and wife, two grandsons, one sister, two brothers, uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
