Mrs. Shurson Funeral Conducted in Kanawha

Kanawha-Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Shurson, 83, who died at her home in Kanawha, were held Sunday afternoon at the Lutheran church in Kanawha with the Rev. H.S. Saus, pastor of the West Side church of Eagle Grove officiating. Burial was made in the Kanawha cemetery.

Dora Chelvich (Chelsvig) was born at Fjelberg, Norway, June 11, 1852, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Chelvich (Chelsvig). At 24, she came to America. Two years previous to coming to America, she was married to Joe Shurson, who preceded her in death, Jan. 1, 1924. For the past 60 years in America, she lived in Story, Hamilton, Wright and Hancock counties, having lived in and around Kanawha for the past 25 years.

The children surviving are Mrs. Elmer Burt of Rowan, Mrs. John Tesdahl of Clarion, Tom, Anfin, Sam and Mrs. Felix Allie of Eagle Grove; Hans, John and Mrs. O.L. Minor of Kanawha.
