Amy L. Dana, daughter of A. W. and Anna Dana, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 1976 at the Westview Manor Nursing Home in Britt, Iowa, where she had made her home since October 13, 1975. She was born October 27, 1883 in Lamont, Buchanan County, Iowa and was 92 years, 10 months and 4 days of age at the time of her death.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Britt, Iowa. She attended the rural Hancock County schools and graduated from the Britt High School. She taught in the rural Hancock County schools and had been employed in the Brooks Department Store and the Lewis Store in Britt and had also worked in the Britt Postoffice. She had lived in Britt most of her life and moved to the Prairie View Apartments in Garner in 1972.

She served her church faithfully and was a member of the W.S.C.S. of the church and the Philathea Sunday School Class. She was also a 50 year member of the P.E.O.

She is survived by 2 nieces, Mrs. Orville (Lucille) Rice of Boscobel, Wisconsin and Mrs. Maynard (Joy) Heacox of Chicago, Illinois; 2 nephews, Gordon M. Dana of Webster Groves, Missouri and Robert Dana of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.

Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt, Iowa.
