Services for Glenn Merlin Blumer, 53, St. Paul, MN who died Monday, May 19, 1988 at his home, were held Wednesday, May 25, 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Klemme with Rev. Herb Shafer officiating.
Music was provided by Mrs. Marilyn Priebe, organist, who accompanied a duet of Bev Thorson and Gordon Beier.
Casket bearers were William Neuberger, Jr., Harry Anderson, Dean Stromer, Harold Blumer, Lyle Goll, and Joe Gibbs.
Burial was at Little Sioux Lutheran Cemetery at Milford with Rev. Tom Groth officiating. Tenold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Glenn Merlin Blumer, the son of Walter C. and Christina Mae (Neuberger) Blumer was born March 13, 1935 in Liberty Township, Hancock County. He ws baptized at the Liberty Methodist Church on July 12, 1936, and confirmed in 1947 in the Klemme Methodist Church. Glenn attended schools in Avery Township and Klemme community and graduated from Klemme in 1952.
Following graduation he worked for his father and in the Klemme area until attendeding Iowa State University from which he received a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering.
April 15, 1961 he married Darlene Eichorn at the First English Lutheran Church in Iowa City.
During his career, Glenn worked for Kellogg Division of ITT in Chicago, and Honeywell and Control Data in the Twin Cities area. He also received a Masters of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota in 1970.
He is survived by brothers, Leo of Etowah, NC and Ivan of Omaha, NE; sisters Mary Ann Schmidt of Klemme and Marlene Jacobs of Woodbury, Mn; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margie Wille.
