Services for Iona Halverson, 85, Forest City, formerly of Miller, who died at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, were held Friday, Feb. 27, 10 a.m., at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home in Forest City with Rev. Owen Gaasedelen, pastor of Miller Lutheran Church, officiating.

Music was provided by soloist, Joanne Running, soloist.

Burial was at the Madison Township Cemetery, Forest City.

Vera Iona Halverson, the daughter of Albert and Nettie (Paulson) Halverson, was born March 16, 1912, in Miller. She began her education in county school and continued with private tutors in her home. She lived with her parents in Miller for many years. After her father's death, Iona lived at the Winnebago County Home until moving to the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City in 1979.

Iona is survived by two nieces, Norma Hammond of Leland and Betty Nelson of Forest City; two nephews, Alvin Halverson of Garner and Robert Nelson of Mason City; and several great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Nettie Halverson; a sister, Edith Nelson; a brother, Harland Halverson and twin brothers, Ralph and Raymond, who died in infancy; and two nephews, Franklin Halverson and Eldean Nelson.
