Services for Lois L. Bedford, 90, Britt, who died Friday, May 19, 1995 at the Westview Care Center in Britt, were held Monday, May 22, 10:30 a.m., at the Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt with Rev. James A. Mattson as officiant.

Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Donna Tech, and soloist, Marlene Smith.

Honorary casket bearers were Craig Waldera, Mark Bedford, Ronald Bedford and Bryan Bedford.

Active bearers were grandsons, Don Bedford, John Kline, Dale Hrubes, Gary Dalland, Mike Dalland, Jim Dalland and Scott Schweertmann.

Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.

Lois Lucille Bedford, the daughter of Matthew and Martha Conway Swaney, was born December 20, 1904 in Rockwell City. She attended school in Britt.

February 23, 1926, she married Edward Bedford at the Lutheran Church in Woden. The couple made their home in the Britt area where they engaged in farming. After Edward's retirement in 1968 they moved into Britt.

Lois liked to garden, raise poultry (chickens, geese and ducks). She also liked to read. She belonged to the First Lutheran Church, and the Ladies Aide.

She is survived by two daughters, Marion Dalland and her husband, Merle of Owatonna, MN, and LaVonne Schweertmann of Roland; one son, Robert Bedford of Britt; 16 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward in 1985; two sons, Elmer and Roland; four brothers, Raymond, Leland,
Elmer and George in infancy; and one sister, Cleo Jacobson.
