Services for Louise G. Hayes, who died Friday, Oct. 4, 1996, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, were held 10:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 7, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. John W. Hemann as celebrant. Lectors were Amy Kloberdanz and Courtenay Bowman.

Carolyn Kumsher, organist, accompanied soloist, Kristen Jakoubek, and the St. Boniface Choir. Paul Young served as usher.

Casket bearers were Robert Kloberdanz, Leo Wellik, Dick Crosby, Stan Ziesmer, James Hayes and Tom Wellik.

Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner Sunday with a combined rosary by the C.D. of A. and Rosary Society and in the evening a Scriptural Wake Service led by Rev. Hemann.

Louise Gyda Hayes, the daughter of Oliver Christian and Isabelle Jacobina (Berven) Lenning, was born October 2, 1917 on a farm near Loma, SD. The family moved from Loma to the Radcliffe-Ellsworth area in 1922. In 1929, they moved to Thompson, where she graduated from high school in 1935.

July 18, 1940, she married Dr. Francis L. Hayes at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner. They made their home in Garner the rest of their lives. She enjoyed her family, golfing, playing bridge, caring for her yard and home and walking and bicycling with her dear friend, Etta Mae Conroy.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, C.D. of A., Rosary Society and Chez Nous Homemaker's Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Jakoubek and her husband, Dr. Robert Jakoubek of Charles City and Susan Louise Bowman and her husband, James Bowman of Geneva, IL; five grandchildren, Amy Kloberdanz and her husband, Robert of Charles City, Kristen Jakoubek of Denver, CO, Courtenay Bowman, Shaye Bowman and Devon Bowman; two great-grandchildren, Ellie Kloberdanz and Kate Kloberdanz; and three sisters, Joy Carson and her husband, Arlo of Forest City, Merna Kobbervig of Princeton, MN and Margaret Jane Keil of Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Francis L. Hayes, December 25, 1981; her parents; and a brother, Carroll Lenning.
