Mrs. Bonar, 95, Funeral Is Held

One of this area's oldest residents, 95-year-old Mrs. Minnie Bonar, died Sunday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyer, in Crystal Lake.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. in Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. Burton W. Smith officiating. Burial was in Madison cemetery.

Olson funeral home was in charge. Pallbearers were George Edwin, Marten Furst, Ronald Yohn, Milo Pitkin, David Meyer and Melvin Meyer.

Minnie Filter Bonar, daughter of Godfred and Caroline Filter, was born Jan. 23, 1860, in Hansfeldt, Germany. She came to America with her parents in 1872 and they settled in Forest City, living first on a farm south of town and then in town.

Minnie Filter was married to David Bonar Feb. 6, 1880. To them was born four children: Olive Mae, who died in 1909; Earnest; Mrs. Ruth Yohn of Clear Lake; Mrs. Henry (Edith) Meyer of Crystal Lake.

Surviving are her three children, seven grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ernestine Marshall of Watford, N. Dak.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter.
