Funeral services for Mrs. Floyd (Netha) Dodd, 54, were held on Friday, Nov. 28, at 1:30 p.m. from the United Methodist Church, Garner, with the Rev. S. Gale Hawhee officiating.
Mrs. Dodd died on Wednesday morning, Nov. 26, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt, following surgery on Monday. At the time of her death she had reached the attained the age of 54 years, eleven months, and 18 days.
Words of comfort were taken from Romans 5:1-11, with the meditation of "Being Justified by Faith." Comfort in music was supplied by soloist, Mrs. Dean Cataldo, who sang the songs, "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond The Sunset." The organist was Mrs. G. W. Templeton. Pallbearers were; Wayne Stille, Alan Willie, George Schmidt, Lawrence Pinneke, John Mattis, and William Schoneman. She was laid to rest in the Concord Cemetery. The Bohn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She was the daughter of George and Maud Moorehead, and born at Clear Lake on December 8, 1920. On February 10, 1940, she was married to Floyd I. Dodd at Clear Lake. They resided in Clear Lake and Bode before moving to Garner in 1945.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Moorehead of Ventura.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 5515, and the Royal Neighbors.
Mrs. Dodd is survived by her husband, Floyd, a Garner councilman; two daughters, Mrs. James (Jeralyn) Palmer, Anaheim, Calif., Mrs. David (Judy) Snow, Coon Rapids, Minn.; one son, Ivan Dodd, mayor of Garner; her mother, Mrs. George Moorehead, Ventura; 10 grandchildren, and one brother, Harlis Moorehead, Norway, Iowa.
