Services for Blanche Ritter, 88, of Garner, who died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1987 at Concord Manor Care Center in Garner, were held 1:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 30 at the United Methodist Church in Garner with Rev. Jerry Wolcott as officiant.

Mrs. Richard Johnson, organist, accompanied soloist, Mrs. W.J. Mack. Ushers were Ben Riemer and John Humphrey.

Casketbearers were Eugene Lackore, Curtis Blank, Anton Trca, Leon Kropp, Dennis Spieker, and Marvin Johnson.

Burial was in Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Blanche Ritter, the daughter of George and Kate (Riehm) Ritter was born January 17, 1899 on a farm southeast of Hayfield. She attended school at Hayfield. She farmed north of Hayfield with her brother, Rolland, and her sister, Ella, for 57 years. She had been in poor health for two years and had resided at Concord Manor Care Center in Garner since October of this year.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and U.M.W. in Garner and was a former Madison Township assessor.

She is survived by her sister, Ella Ritter, of Garner; a niece, Ina Mae Gambell; a great niece, Bernice Haugan and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mrs. John (Lorna) Smith and her brother, Rolland "Bud" Ritter.
