Anton "Tony" Ptacek
1918-1991

Services for Anton "Tony" Ptacek, 72, Britt, who died Sunday, June 30, 1991 at his home in Britt, were held Wednesday, July 3, 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt with Rev. Marvin Bries officiating. Tracy Potbury served as lector.

Music was provided by organist, Carolyn Kumsher, and soloist, Tracy Raw. Ushers were Dan Doughan and Duane Doughan.

Casket bearers were Mike Kirschbaum, Randy Pederson, Philip Potbury, Curt Schleuger, Ryan Holck and Tony Raw.

Burial was at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Duncan with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Tony, the son of Adolph and Mary Nedved Ptacek, was born July 14, 1918 near Duncan. He received his education in the rural school system.

January 6, 1942, he married Ileene Kunkel at St. Benedict Catholic Church at St. Benedict. Tony farmed and worked in the implement business his entire life. In 1980 he retired from Urich Implement in Garner.

Tony was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt and also a member of the Catholic Workmen Lodge for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ileene Ptacek of Britt; three daughters, Mrs. Darold (Sondra) Schleuger of Forest City, Mrs. Jan Raw of Britt and Mrs. Thomas (Sharon) Holck of Quincy, IL; grandchildren, Mrs. Randy (Cheryl) Pederson of Fertile, Mrs. Mike (Carol) Kirschbaum of Leland, Carla Schleuger of Morristown, NJ, Curt Schleuger of Forest City, Mrs. Philip (Tracy) Potbury of Colesburg, Tony and Tammy Raw of Britt, Ryan, Steve, Kevin and Ian Holck of Quincy, IL; two great-grandchildren, Laura and Adam Pederson of Fertile; one brother, Clarence Ptacek and his wife, Verniel of Garner; five sisters, Mrs. James (Mary) Kral of Taylor, WI, Mrs. Michael (Agnes) Kumsher of Britt, Mrs. Marcella Weiskamp of Britt, Mrs. L.E. (Margaret) Schleusner of Garner, Mrs. Allan (Frances) Dughan of Britt; and two aunts, Mrs. Albina Urich and Clare Ptacek, both of Britt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Bill Raw; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Blanche) Witte.
