Lynne Cunningham dies Monday at 79

Long-time Forest City area farmer, Lynne W. Cunningham, 79, died Monday at a Hampton hospital.

Funeral services were scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Olson-Petersen funeral home. The Rev. B. Gordon Packard was scheduled to officiate, with burial at Madison township cemetery.

Mr. Cunningham was born at Rinebeck, Ia., on Jan. 17, 1896, the son of William and Elizabeth (Willert) Cunningham. When he was a child, the family moved to a farm south of Thompson and in 1914 to the Forest City area.

After his marriage to Mattie Mitchell, they moved to a farm in the Forest City area and had lived at their present farm southeast of the community since 1934.

Mr. Cunningham is survived by one son, Lloyd Cunningham, of Forest City; one daughter, Mrs. Max (Ruby) Lunstrum, Dumont, Ia.; two brothers, John Cunningham of Forest City and Ted Cunningham of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Ira (Mae) Furman, Miller, S.D., Mrs. Carl (Pearl) Bremeley, Clarks Grove, Minn., and Mrs. Elmer (Emily) Reese, Forest City; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1965, two brothers, Ivan and Eltom (Pat), and one sister, Mrs. Lrona Hoogestratt.
