Services for Ernest Auchampach, 53, of Mason City, who died Wednesday, April 22, 1987 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, were held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 25 at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner with Rev. Tim Johnson of the First Christian Church in Mason City as officiant.

Casket bearers were George Merten, Tom Wells, Jack Merten, Eugene Timmons, Billy Hanse, Roger Hanse, Roger Wells and Alfred Merten.

Graveside military rites at Concord Township Cemetery in Garner were conducted by the American Legion, Clausen-Warden Post #101 from Mason City.

Ernest Henry Auchampach, the son of Lester and Lydia (Myers) Auchampach was born November 4, 1933 at Ventura. He attended school at Ventura and Clear Lake; graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1953. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1961; being stationed in Korea and Japan during the Korean Conflict.

June 17, 1961, Ernie married Mary Ruth Merten at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake. They lived in Clear Lake, Garner, and after 1968, in Mason City where Ernie worked for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

He was a member of the American Legion, Clausen-Warden Post #101 in Mason City.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Mason City and his sister, Donna Auchampach of Clear Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Lydia Auchampach.
