Services for John "Jack" Waddingham, 80, of Garner, who died Wednesday, September 14, 1988 at Concord Manor Care Center in Garner were held 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 19 at the United Methodist Church in Garner with Rev. Jerry Wolcott as officiant.

Mrs. Richard Johnson, organist, accompanied, soloist, Bill Renner. Ushers were Merle Brown, Vern Butz and Marvin Schoneman.

Casket bearers were J. William Waddingham, Thomas Waddingham, David Waddingham, Bruce Waddingham, Ray Waddingham and Roger Sobek.

Burial was in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

John "Jack" William Waddingham, the son of William and Louisa (Jahnke) Waddingham, was born at Meservey, January 4, 1908. He attended the rural schools of Avery Township.

March 28, 1934, he married Reva Elder at the United Methodist Church in Klemme. They farmed southeast of Klemme until 1970 when they retired from active farming and moved to Garner. For the following ten years Jack worked as a night attendant at the Hancock County Care Facility.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garner.

He is survived by his wife, Reva, of Garner; his children, J. William Waddingham and his wife, Rosalie, of Garner, Thomas Waddingham and his wife, Janice, of Thornton, David Waddingham and his wife, Marie, of Garner, Mrs. Ellen Sobek and her husband, Roger, of Klemme, Bruce Waddingham and his wife, Cheryl, of Forest City, NC and Ray Waddingham of Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Virgil Waddingham and his wife, Irene of Meservey, Roy Waddingham and his wife Maigre, of Nora Springs, Mrs. Lucille Kuhlers of Forest City, and Mrs. Belle Karsjens of Garner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Waddingham and a sister, Mrs. Doris Tebben.
